Our training programs are are age-appropriate, designed to enhance each player’s personal growth and encourage them to maintain a positive self-image through a healthy competitive spirit. This will enable our players to prepare for the many challenges that life has to offer. As a result, we aim to develop quality soccer players as well as well-balanced, motivated individuals who are fully equipped to deal with the challenges of modern life.

We are a multi-cultural club with a diverse staff and player base. We maintain a policy of open membership regardless of residence or economic circumstance. Our club is proud to represent western North Carolina and is committed to achieving positive recognition for our region. As well, CMSC strives to form positive / working relationships with all public and private middle and high schools and their coaching staffs. CMSC would like to be seen as a resource, not a competitor for players.

This club was founded in 1980 as Smoky Mountain Youth Soccer Association (SMYSA). SMYSA officially became Smoky Mountain Soccer Club (SMSC) in the Fall season of 2003. SMSC has been serving the soccer community of Western North Carolina for over twenty years. In 2007, we changed the name to Carolina Mountains Soccer Club (CMSC) to reflect the growth of the club as it better serves the area in which it was founded. The club is affiliated at the state level with the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association.

CMSC has grown to having a current membership of up to 160 youth players aged 5-18, fielding as many as 12 teams, including Junior Academy, Pre Academy, Academy, and Classic levels, playing in the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association.
