JUNIOR ACADEMY

What is the Junior Academy?

The CMSC Junior Academy is the perfect introduction into soccer and group play for children 4-6 years old. It will help your child to build a great athletic foundation and it will also teach them the importance of teamwork and individual improvement in a non-competitive atmosphere.

The CMSC Junior Academy provides a chance for your child to learn about the game of soccer, improve as a player and meet new friends and most of all have a lot of FUN!

The focus of the Junior Academy will be on developing soccer skills (dribbling, passing, trapping, kicking and juggling) through a series of fun games and small-sided games specially designed for children 4-6 year olds. The Junior Academy uses soccer as a vehicle to develop and educate young children about the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle. The curriculum focuses on improving motor, social and soccer skills in a fun and positive environment.

CMSC Jr Academy is proud to offer the most qualified coaching staff for young children in Western North Carolina. The Jr Academy coaching staff is composed of nationally licensed coaches to develop a fun and rewarding atmosphere for your child.

Seasons & Training

The Jr Academy consists of both a Fall and Spring season, with each season lasting approximately 10 weeks. Training or Practice is conducted during the week with games being held on weekends. Jr Academy players are “pool-trained” which means that they all practice together and that there are no set teams within the Jr Academy groups. Teams are decided on by the coach and trainer depending on the game format for any specific weekend. All games are played in a small sided format, such as 3v3, 4v4, etc. to promote skill development. All practices and games are held at the Hazelwood Elementary Soccer Fields.

Fees

The registration fee for each player is $150. The fee includes both the Fall and Spring seasons as well as a 2 CMSC Jr Academy T-shirt to be used as a jersey. Each player is required to furnish their own soccer cleats, shorts, water, etc. for each practice and game.
